Presidential campaigns target gay Ga. voters
http://www.sovo.com/2008/1-11/news/localnews/7971.cfm

As Georgia voters prepare to head to the polls on Feb. 5 to take part in what’s been dubbed Super Duper Tuesday, when more than 20 states hold their presidential primaries, many local gay leaders are speaking out with public endorsements.

With Hillary Clinton fresh off a crucial win in New Hampshire and Barack Obama still riding on his win in Iowa, local gay voters acknowledge they are torn between the two.

Both tDemocratic presidential candidates claim nearly the same stance on gay issues such as repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” as well as providing legal protections for gay couples. But John Edwards, also a strong gay rights rter, seems to have lost his footing in the race, according to University of Georgia political science professor Charles Bullock.

But can gay Georgia voters make any kind of impact on the presidential race?

1. Charles doesn't sound too bright
it's not hard to figure out why John Edwards has, as he said, "lost his footing in the race". The media has shut him down and talk incessantly about Obama/Clinton like they're a divorcing celeb couple!!!

Thankfully, John's not leaving the race, because he's got to know what's going on. Take it to the convention and let it be figured out there, dammit!

2. LOL. I love how the squalling Edwards supporter...
Who fly's into a thread and starts to wail about his candidate only to ignore the premise of the thread. Who do gay people support? Who would they be better to support? A man who folds up everytime gays are mentioned, have you seriously seen that body language, or another man and a woman who sincerely support equal rights legislation.

I just LAWL'd seeing an Edwards supporter run in here and essentially just spam support for his candidate in a threat A. Not about this candidate, and B. A reply not even relevant to the thread. Seriously, GTFO Edwards, it is either Hillary or Obama. Face reality.

3. The only positive about Clinton and Obama with regards to gay rights is....
Unlike most (not all) of the Republican candidates, Clinton and Obama are not telling us to f**k off and die. At least, not until after the election if their voting records are any indication.

9. Are ANY of those gay voters asking why the candidates refuse to support equal marriage?
Just asking.
