Teen Swimmers Upset After Pictures Appear In Gay Adult Sites
(Santa Ana, California) Several gay adult Web sites have posted photographs of teenage water polo players from several high schools in Southern California, a newspaper reported.

Some of the pictures, of boys as young as 14, were displayed next to photos of nude young men and graphic sexual content, an Orange County Register investigation found.

Parents, coaches and school officials were alarmed, and parents said some of the boys were traumatized and sought counseling.

had photographed the high school athletes for gay-oriented sites. The man had not been charged, and...remain(s) on duty."

I watched a water polo match during an Olympics. I recall that it consisted of bunch of guys in a pool wearing numbered bathing caps and trying to toss a ball into a floating net. Did I miss something? And why photograph them in secret?

7. Similar to the Alison Stokke experience
Attractive female High School pole vaulter, object of many a web site..

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=alison+stokke

And while she was 18 when some of the pics came out, many were from earlier.

some were outraged, others, not.

My question - are they outraged because they got put on gay sites, or because they are underaged?

I can handle the outrage for the underage, not the gay sites.

8. I'd be outraged just because the pictures were used to advertise something

without permission from the people in the pictures.

The fact that they're under aged just makes it worse.

10. Not gay sites?
They're kids. Underage kids. I can understand how the thought of some old man jacking-off over their pictures would be...creepy. Or the fact that your face appears on a gay porn site would be upsetting to you.

9. Yeah, that's pretty wrong
As someone who participates in a sport that perhaps can be a bit revealing, this is quite offensive. In addition to violating these boys in the worst way, it diminishes the value of their sport. Revolting.

11. I guess I'm in the small minority that feels...

...if the photos aren't sexually explicit, and the events take place in a public forum, I figure the use the photos get put to afterward is irrelevant to the free speech issue.

Also, I find it awfully hypocritical to call this a "pedophile" issue as long as the kids are post-puberty. To some extent, our whole culture worships the young teen as an object of sexual desire. See: Heroes, Hayden Pantierre, High School Musical, nearly every pop idol post-Britney...

All that said, I do find it distasteful and seedy to feature scantily-clad teens (or anyone against their will) on a porn site. And I feel bad for the kids who're upset to be so objectified. But for me it doesn't have much to do with their age. I mean, even *network TV* serves up young flesh to viewers, regularly and with little shame. I don't consider myself sick for thinking many 16-year-old boys are hot--though I don't fetishize them particularly--and would never seduce one or allow one to seduce me...

It's not like the average straight man's thoughts about high school cheerleaders are pure. Outlaw this at the same time you outlaw all drooling photos of cheerleaders at the big game, and I'm with you. Otherwise, it's hypocracy.

13. TV
Those people are paid for their work. Those people choose to be on TV showing their goodies. These guy, and the cheerleaders, did not have the option.
