Fighting the Conservatives to get health reform
Conservatives for Patients Rights is a group that has been founded to fight any insurance reform.

They've already started a television campaign on Fox and CNN where the commercial starts off
with somber music playing where they say "In Canada ....." or "In the UK" followed by a story
about a negative experience that a person had with the universal health systems in those countries.

They don't mention, that millions of people are successfully treated in those countries each year.

I hope President Obama's health reform plan includes a plan on how to fight these negative ads.
Otherwise, the public will be scared into inaction, they way they were when the Clinton Administration
tried to reform health care.

The insurance industry's bread and butter is on the line, and they'll spend millions to protect it
by exaggerating the truth or telling outright lies.

3. Conservatives think our insurance companies are compassionate
I just heard a radio announcement telling people to do what they must do to stop health care reform,
or else they'll end up with a government insurance system that has the efficiency of the US postal service
and the compassion of the IRS.

First, I think that the US Post Office does one hell of a good job, moving all the mail they do in the
amount of time that they do it.

Second, when they talk about the compassion of the IRS are they comparing it to the compassion of
the health insurance companies? We all know how compassionate they are.

Obama better get people onto fighting the negative ads or he'll find his reform effort being defeated.

4. Well, bzzzzt!
Neither the USPS nor the IRS are operated by the federal government! They are both regulated, but are NOT federal programs.
The IRS works for the Federal Reserve.
