I posted this in the lounge, but thought that the cheese element might fit in with the cookery group....feel free to ignore!
It was an S&M Martini made with the finest gin and vintage port (plus some other things that I forget), garnished with a dried apricot that had been stuffed with a small piece of Stilton cheese.
Oddly enough, it was very pleasant (if a bit strong). The creaminess of the cheese really mixed well with the powerful alcohol of the martini.
Favourite cocktail of the evening? That would have to be the Dr Strangelove, which consisted of Calvados (apple brandy), pear liqueur and champagne.......absolutely fantastic.
The venue? Lounge Lover in London, described in a review as, "the dopest cat in the pimp house, this sucker is one fo' yo ladies. the decor? llewelyn-bowen meets david copperfield in 80's marrakesh. inspired."
How right they are.......but at £9 - £10 per cocktail, thank the Lord that somebody else was paying......
