Camp stove on my front porch--
--is now substituting for my stovetop. Oven seems to still work, anyway. DH is away for the weekend, and I can't find his files for the electrical layout. Sigh. Guess it's time to get serious about getting another one.

1. I completely ran out of propane while making shortcakes last nigh.
I made DH get up and change the tanks, but, alas, the second tank was also empty. He will be running over to the fuel station today!

Enjoy your camp stove.

2. Do you store the tanks outside for an inside stove?
Wondering if a propane range might be a useful substitute for the dead electric range. I'd keep the functioning oven and just add a cooktop to it. Given your experience, is that a reasonable possibility?

3. Yes, they are outside and route to the propane stovetop and oven.
I have a switch that cuts off supply at the tank when I am not using it. That prevents any accidental flow of propane into the interior.

Works great for me. Propane is cheap and very easy to store because it is compressed.

Other than running out (a problem that was solved this am but DH after I said, "There will be no food"), I have not had any problems with it.
