How do you remove "write protected"

How do you remove "write protected"
from a My Documents group of files so you can copy them.

I want to remove that function permanently if I can.

1. Right click on the highest level folder..
and click on 'properties'. The window that appears will have a 'file attribute' secton at the bottom. If 'read only' is checked or colored green, click on it until it is white & not checked. Click on Apply.
A message box will appear asking whether you want this change applied just to that folder, or to the items within it, so I guess you would check the later. Click okay to close that box, then click okay to close the properties box. That usually will do it.

2. Thanks for the help. I figured out it was an oddity in
my "drag to disk" program.
