comodo's firewall and antivirus software

reading about comodos firewall 3.0 has left me wondering if there would be any need for me to continue with running an antivirus program. At present I'm using windows firewall and avg free.

The literature on comodos firewall sounds like it covers virus and malware in general. I'm at a loss. I have been letting xp use its firewall up to now. Any help in helping me to un'nerstand is and will be greatly appreciated :-)

2. I think you need both (and more)

I don't have a clue what it means, but my understanding is the Windows firewall doesn't protect from both directions, only incoming - real firewall protects outgoing as well

All these things overlap and some catch somethings better than others. Don't run two antivirus programs at the same time though.

But I certainly don't use the Windows Firewall, I turn that off completely.

I run AVG Free, Comodo Firewall, Comodo BoClean and Spybot S&D.
