Making the Bed (Lots of Pics)
I don't know about you guys, but making the bed is difficult around my place.

Oh, and working from home is difficult too!

1. A kitty lump! My bed has one of those!
Your pussers are gorgeous. Is the white-chinned one an Abyssinian?

2. Lily's mother was an Abby
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 04:11 PM by demnan
Her Daddy was a brown tabby. Nice mix actually like the early Abbys. She is 17 years old and doesn't like to be caught in photos playing with her brothers, Pad Thai (Siamese) and Charley (Orange and white)

Thanks for the compliment! :hi:

5. Looks like my house only
throw in 2 more cats and 8 ferrets. They are all good at unmaking the bed by themselves too.

7. That is exactly how the bed gets made at my house too.
My cats are into all kinds of chores. Sweeping is very exciting, as is folding laundry. And of course they always "help".

9. Cute!
Same at my house but with a 95 lb dog and a 50 lb dog to move. Fortunately, when I say "get off the bed", they go :-).

10. Thank you really enjoyed the pics
as I always do when someone posts. My cat has his own bed in the familyroom and he like it quite a bit, but at bedtime he is usually in bed with me. Good looking crew you have.

11. Aw...thanks for the memories!
Our kitty used to always play "kitty-under-the-blanket" with me when I would flip the blanket or sheets up to make the bed. He'd race from one corner to the other under the sheet trying to catch the corners or chase some phantom--great fun! We lost him two weeks ago to old age--he was 18.

12. I'm so sorry!
Hope you are holding up well. Sometime in the future maybe you can adopt another little bed snuggler.

13. we will.
We've delayed doing some traveling we wanted to do because of the cat, so we'll do that first. Then look for another kitty. They do make a house a home.

14. I understand
I'd like to travel but when I do go on vacation, even having a loving friend take care of my babies I miss them so much, knowing they may not understand if I will return or not, that it puts a damper on my travel plans. I know how much they love me.

"I know how much they love me". What a beautiful testament to how much you love them, and, how good you are to them! BTW, I LOVE the pics! Reminds me of my home...I only have two, but, they create quite an obstacle course for me when I try to make the bed. I caught Spidey today trying to eat my mattress cover. They never cease to make me laugh!

Reading this post of your's made me think of my late Pushka. When my oldest daughter had her first baby (nearly six years ago now), I stayed a week with her when she got out of the hospital as she had had a C-section. I left Pushka with my oldest son. He did not feed her regularly, and, when I got back, I saw that her food dish was empty (I always kept dry food out for her). Anyway, I went next door to let my elderly neighbor know that I was home, and suddenly, I felt a "critter" literally running up my legs to my back to my shoulders. She was so excited to see me that she forgot she was "getting up there in age", and just sprinted up my body.

There is no doubt that animals love deeply.

19. That's a nice story!
Yes they are always happy to see you aren't they? Year before last I spent a week in Georgia with my brother. I drove back in one day. It took me 14 hours of almost straight driving but it was worth it, because my friend Susan said, "Yes the cats are fine, but every time I come by Pad Thai looks at me as if to say, Oh darn, its not her." So I drove back in one day to be with my babies.

17. the last six months he was too sick to leave at a kennel.
We have a really nice "pet resort" we use that has a special cat room, but didn't want to leave him there with his failing heart and kidneys and all the extra care he needed.

16. So sorry to hear about your kitty.
I know from experience that, even though they are elderly and have lived a good life, it still is very painful to lose them. I am glad to hear that you will soon adopt another little love.

18. yeah maybe a tabby next time
The last one was black with a white spot on his chest. We had a brown tabby a long time ago, and remember her as a real sweetie. Do you think there is anything to the idea that color and personalities go together. Of course the black one we just lost was also a sweet kitty, although a little shy when he was a young cat. Eventually he mellowed out and wasn't afraid of strangers anymore.

20. I don't know if color determines personality
They are all so unique. I always found grey cats to be very loving and orange ones to be exceedingly funny, but not lap cats, like my dear big Charley. Otherwise, my Siamese, Pad Thai has a different personality from any other cat I've ever seen. And Lily, my half-Abby has a different personality as well that is more like her mother's breed.

Then there is the black smoke soulful Scorpio, who lives with my Mom. I promise pictures soon, he is gorgeous now!

21. I don't know how or if coat color is an indicator of personality
but my experience has been that tortoiseshell cats are VERY SMART and busy, kind of like little aunties.
