I hate everything and everything hates me: A rant about Mars in Taurus.

Okay, it's not so much that everything hates me, but that everything, and I mean everything, is extremely tedious for me right now. And then, of course, there's the occasional hellishly traumatic event, although those have really been cropping up only every once in a while. Still--goddamnit. This experience is just so similar to what all the books say it should be--a time when every attempt at action, forward motion and progress is stymied. I hate it. February cannot get here soon enough.

1. Maybe the lesson here is to just roll with it?
I am also a Taurus, and I have had some DAYS too, but for me it is about just learning to roll with it. I'm not saying be passive, but I AM saying that the frustration only increases and makes it even worse if we stamp and snort.

Maybe I'm just a bit odd here, but I have always seen this kind of stuff as a sort of learning opportunity. You really have to accept the transits for what they are and then figure out how to work within them (or if you can!)

This may sound a bit offbeat, but have you read the Tao Te ching? I have found that I've benefited a great deal from contemplating some of the writings there.

8. Water
The best of man is like water,
Which benefits all things, and does not contend with them,
Which flows in places that others disdain,
Where it is in harmony with the Way.

So the sage:
Lives within nature,
Thinks within the deep,
Gives within impartiality,
Speaks within trust,
Governs within order,
Crafts within ability,
Acts within opportunity.

He does not contend, and none contend against him.

This comes from the Merel translation which is available online at:

There are links to other translations here:

I have found the images from nature to be a big help in getting my head around the various energies that we all deal with.

YMMV.

2. Yeah. Just rolling with it has been...my only option for peace.
"the frustration only increases and makes it even worse if we stamp and snort." Hee. That is an awesome description of a frustrated Taurus and you may consider it stolen.

No, truly, I get that while this is frustrating, it isn't the end of the world. I've felt worse in my life. I'm just sick of things frequently and inexplicably breaking, stalling, ending and being in my way.

3. I do understand and sympathize.

I'm looking at about $1200 in needed car repairs (most likely) and I DO understand what you mean about feeling like there are roadblocks everywhere you turn.

Having said that, I also feel rather lucky because about $500 of that comes from deliberately putting the car into the median on the highway when somebody slammed on the brakes in front of me. Had I NOT done that I'd have rear-ended that other car and most likely have been injured in the process.

The car can be driven, and it is running--but that probable repair to the steering is hanging out there. The mechanic has tried some mystical "seal all" in the power steering system and we are hoping that will be a fix. In the meantime, the leaking head gasket is still an issue, as are the tires that need to be replaced...

This too shall pass. (Yet another mantra that I have had to learn to live with!)

Taoism is not my tradition, but I'm very serious when I say that looking at it has helped me learn to accept things I simply can't change.

Peace to you, dear. Things WILL improve soon.

4. I feel the same way, but I am a Cancer.
Aries moon, Libra rising. Is it only Taureans that are supposed to be going through this experience?

6. I'm also a Libra rising going through a tough time
I understand that Mars is in our 10th house and causing career/money issues. For those with early Libra rising, Mars left the 10th house recently, undoubtedly to wreak havoc in the 11th house.

I'm just an amateur, of course, but that does NOT sound pretty.

5. Oh please, my MARS in in Taurus
Edited on Mon Jan-02-06 07:52 PM by 48percenter
I'm in sales and kicking some real ass right now! As we slide down past this placement things will become ho-hum for me. I am enjoying this ride while I can. Motivation is at an all time high. My poor daughter has Mars in Scorpio, that could be why she is feeling mopey, but this is good because she is about to enter an upswing, just in time for grad school.

Sorry for you folks suffering under Mars in Taurus. -48

7. Interesting.
I'd always felt kinda bad for those people with natal Mars in Taurus, but if it helps you, huzzah! That's really intriguing, though, you actually finding an increase in motivation at this time.
