Do you feel that eating meat affects a person's frequency?
I'm a vegetarian for ethical reasons, but I've been told that a person's frequency is higher when he/she doesn't eat meat. I have been vegetarian for about 4 years, but I do eat cheese, milk and eggs a few times a week. I haven't felt any difference in my frequency. Would becoming vegan help?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any thoughts?

Thanks for all input.

1. I can tell you what I've been taught and some personal
experience. I was taught that your personal vibratory rate does increase when you eat lighter foods ie: fresh fruits and veggies and whole grains. My husband and I have noticed that a diet full of these foods does make us feel lighter and quicker, both mentally and physically.

Also, we were taught that eating animal flesh can cause heaviness due to the state of mind of the animal during it's life and just prior to slaughter. A vedic friend also advises not to eat animals that are four legged and that if you must eat meat it should be fish or fowl.

I have eaten vegan and vegetarian and have found little difference, however I am lactose intolerant so I don't get along well with dairy. Also, as an aside the Dali Lama was forbidden from eating eggs as a child as his mentors felt it caused him to think less clearly.

I don't know if you know but there is a vegetarian group here at DU as well.

2. Dali Lama
He may not eat eggs but I remember hearing a couple of years ago that he started to eat small amounts of meat at the direction of his doctor. Based on this, I imagine the occasional use of small amounts of meat or other animal-based products should not hurt your vibrational level.

3. I didn't know that
Thanks. I do eat fish and fowl now myself, I had a problem with anemia after 10 years of no meat.

4. I think that was his problem too
B12 is hard for vegetarians to get.

5. Thanks for the information, and thanks for the reference to the...
Vegetarian group. I was aware of it. However, I was specifically concerned about the vibrational frequency issue. I haven't seen a lot of posts in the other group about spiritual issues. (However, I haven't looked at all of the posts closely.) Maybe I'll also post the question there.

Thanks again!

7. Spiritual thoughts are not well received by a lot
of people in most groups outside of this one. I figured you knew about the veggie group but I have found groups here that I didn't know existed after someone mentioned it, thus the link. So I hope you didn't take that wrong. I'm just happy there are people here are so open.

8. I'm glad that you didn't assume that I already knew about the...
Vegetarian group. I think that the Vegetarian group is a wonderful group, but I was concerned that they would deem my question outside the scope of why their group was set up. (However, my guess is that they'd be more open to it than most groups.)

I'm also very thankful for this group! I have much to learn, and the people here are wonderful resources and appear to be amazing people. I hope that I'm able to add to the life-blood of this group with my experiences.

However, I do appreciate your clarification as to why you posted your comment because I was a little concerned that you felt that I was posting an inappropriate question. I certainly don't want to do anything to disrupt this group.

6. Yes, I used to be more attuned and sensitive when I was only eating
vegetables, only occasional fish or chicken.
To the point I was scared (I was young then) I saw and heard entities, and my dreams were almost a preview of things to come. In particular air disasters, which certainly was not pleasant.
Now I know better and would like to eventually go back to being a vegetarian.

9. Not really
I come from a long line of meateaters. Many of my meat eating relatives are elders in the Native American Church (peyote roadmen) or are traditional grandfathers/grandmothers (spiritual advisors). I was taught that the bigger "trick" is the source and preparation of the food. It basically boils down to the idea that when you prepare food (or engage in life) a part of you is put into your creation. Therefore it is better to approach all things with clear thoughts and good intentions.

Because I'm a meat eater I'm careful of its source. I don't want slaughter house meat because the animals were probably terrified before they were killed and their fear is (or so I was taught) in the meat. Because I don't want that fear I buy most of my food stuffs from the local organic co-op or, more often, from a friend of ours that raises beef. Before I cook I have to make sure that I'm in the "right mind" to do it. Whenever I cook I try to keep in mind good thoughts because, as I was raised, these thoughts are put into the food while I'm preparing it. My husband first thought I was a little crazy when he heard me talking and thanking the foods while I was prepping them. After I explained to him the philosophy that was instilled in me and he met some of my full blood relatives who hunt in the "old way" he now understands. Some of my uncles still bow hunt. They fast and pray before they go out hunting. They pray after they make their kill and while they are processing the meat. Fortunately for me they also share this meat with the family.

Then again, I tend not to eat a lot. Most of the time I only eat until I feel sated. If I eat too much of any thing it slows me down and makes me feel dull.
