I have a lot of energy
Also attuned to Reiki and things just buzz for me sometimes. People, animals, nature, the whole thing.

I knew when I went into Reiki that I might be taking a dare. But I did it. I have always been super sensitive and believe that Reiki has helped me focus and channel more clearly. I don't always remember what we're dealing with. I think it could be used to more advantage.

I'm just so sensitive. Sometimes it really seems to hurt. Does anyone else have this issue? What do you do?

1. I'm in the same boat, my friend
I'm learning how to deal with all of this anew, too. As you grow emotionally and spiritually, you will get stronger and be better able to hold your peace despite the state of the outside world.

Without knowing more about you, I don't want to start diagnosing and prescribing things. Do you have a spiritual mentor though, someone who understands all this stuff and has done the work themselves already?

2. No.
I was on a Reiki list and a homeopathy list. Those people usually helped keep me calm. Sometimes I just get so figety. It seems like I should be doing something, but I don't know what. Much of it does come from the outside world. But I believe some is due to my internal struggle. Maybe I'm just not using the energy to it's full advantage. Maybe I'm just lost.

3. You are responsible for your own happiness...
however, that doesn't mean you have to go it alone. You should seriously find someone who can support you as you deal with this. The transition from looking at the world/ourselves with fear to a love based reality is not easy, but it has been done by many before us. Finding someone who has walked the path to help you through the rougher parts would be really good. You have to start asking around in the alternative health circles for therapists who do spiritual counseling. Or just find a reiki master who you can strike up an easy friendship with. We are here to support each other at the forum through thick and thin, but you need the real-life friendships more.

I don't know if you live anywhere in the DC area, but this lady has helped me to deal with my stuff very well:

I haven't thought about a spiritual mentor before. This guy I'm with now thinks I'm his spiritual partner/teacher and that just amazes me. I know stuff. I see things. But I'm not really up to supporting someone else's journey except in a very superficial way. I have my own struggles still. I want to get to that peace state. I believe it is possible and appreciate your encouragement. It is a new landscape and I feel my spirit guides on a regular basis. Maybe I can talk to them awhile.

edit to add: Looking at that link. I'm also a massage therapist. I would love to work with trauma survivors. I just need to settle my traumas first.

Most of the people I know who do this work do have some sort of major trauma(s) that they've had to overcome. I think it comes with the territory, in that we have more compassion and better understanding for others when we have been through the gauntlet ourselves. Working on other people is a very empowering and rewarding act, atleast for me. Just doing it a few times has done a lot to give me hope.

I'm starting to have snatches of inner peace now, and I never thought I would get there again. If I can do it, you most certainly can too. Whenever you get down, just ask your guides to help you see things differently, through the eyes of love. Know that your negative viewpoint is not the truth, and that it WILL pass.

There's an article I recently read that's helped me put a lot of things in perspective. Maybe it will strike a chord in you:

Selfless Gratitude

Good luck with finding a teacher and God bless. We'll be here when you need us too :)
