Anyone interested in having a group book read?

cassiepriam mentioned the idea of a group book read a while back, and I thought that it was a great idea. She suggested the book "Life between Lives' by Michael Newton. Here's the information about it on Amazon:

Is anyone interested in doing this? If not this book, we're open to other suggestions for books as well.

If we decide to do this and you're interested but can't afford the book, I can get a few additional books and send them out. (Everyone who wants to be involved should be able to be.) Please just PM me if you need a copy of whatever book we decide upon.

I hope that things work out so that we do more than one book.

I would like to read the Newton book.

I'd like to suggest we use a book that may be available in local libraries. Unfortunately, I'm going through some financial times and am unable to purchase new books. The good thing is that I've got a great local library system and use it a lot.

After reading the above posts, at least one person's already bought the book based upon this. I'm going to send you a PM to discuss this further.

I am so sorry, I did not double check the Newton title. I have read all of his books and I got his first book confused with a later one. We want to read the first one. JOURNEY OF SOULS.

I'd love to join! I love that book. I read it a couple of years ago and all I have to do is find it. I was just thinking last week that I wanted to reread it lol.

as was discussed in a few earlier posts. cassiepriam and I are going to figure out how to break it up as soon as I get my copy of the book. We'll post a separate thread with the details and the breakdown. We hope that anyone who's interested in joining us will be ready to start within a week. Please look for the separate thread which will be entitled something like BOOK READ: 'Journey of Souls' by Michael Newton. It will have separate posts with the timeline and chapters.

And ,yes, I understand that the book was changed to Journey of Souls. I should be able to get my copy back from my sister this weekend. I can't wait to get started. I think it will be so much fun to discuss this book with other people.

I don't think I've read anything by him before.

I'll have to see if I can get the book from my library, though. And I already have a stack of books clamoring to be read, so I can't guarantee how well I can keep up, but I'm definitely interested.

What's the timeframe you're thinking of? A week or so to read the book, and then everyone posts their thoughts on a specific date - or, everyone posts their thoughts chapter-by-chapter ... etc. ?

We're giving people a few days to get the book at this point. We're going to be posting a separate thread very soon with all of the details in it. I suspect that we're going to do the read over a period of a month with chapters for specific periods of time.

I've got the book on reserve at the library now. Should be available within a few days.

On Monday or Tuesday (3/20 or 3/21), we'll start a new thread with the timeline and chapters broken down and that will be the book read's thread.
