Reincarnation website.
Oh. My. Fucking. God.

http://www.johnadams.net

The pictures are incredible. The whole website is incredible, especially the pictures. The author makes astoundingly convincing cases about current politicians and others, and who they were in past lives.

1. Thanks for posting this
They have a Yahoo group which is about reincarnation in general (meaning not necessarily that of famous people) and I'm finding it very interesting..

2. The only thing that I don't agree with is the George W. one... ro..
Aren't souls supposed to become more divine and evolve with each reincarnation? George W's seems to have gone down the tubes. Daniel Morgan didn't seem like such a bad guy...'cept he liked to party.

3. Thanks for posting, G.
I'm not sure what to make of this. I have this funny feeling that Mr. Daniel Morgan was probably MUCH more ethical than our very own George BeelzeBush. But I don't know enough about Morgan.

Now I did check out some of the names on the left hand side of the web site. I definitely disagree with him on Satya Sai Baba. This man is no 'avatar'. He's been implicated in at least 2 deaths. There have been allegations of sexual abuse - lots of it. Someone showed some photos of chalk dust appearing in-between his fingers as he seems to make smoke appear.

Also, I wonder about the author's willingness to consult on previous lifetimes over the phone. And why is it that our past lives are always someone rich or famous?

But, who knows? Anyway, thanks for the post. I always enjoy reading about this stuff.

4. well......
I don't know about Baba. A friend spent six months over there and came back changed into an entirely different, wholly peaceful, enlightened, compassionate, unflappable soul. That's no evidence either way, of course.

As to past lives being rich or famous - it's only the rich and famous who make it into the history books. The past life work that I've done has not revealed anyone remotely rich or famous. I have a strong affinity for Walt Whitman, but I know that's more of a landmark thing -- something significant in his age, perhaps as one of his contemporaries.

I suppose what I'm saying is that my past life as an anonymous pharmacist who died along with millions of others in the death camps is not going to draw visitors to a web site or make anyone buy a book.

That's why the ones you *hear* about are rich and/or famous.

6. I really don't know that much about Sai Baba
Edited on Sun Dec-26-04 01:31 PM by cliss
A woman I used to work with says that she's known about certain miracles that he did. He apparently has the power to materialize and de-materialize at will. She told me about a friend of hers who was driving his car. Suddenly, in the passenger seat there was Sai Baba. The friend was apparently saved from some kind of car accident.

Swami Kriyananda wrote nice things about Sai Baba in his book about holy persons in India about 20 years ago. He went to visit him, and Sai materialized some gifts or candy from thin air, and gave them to Kriyananda. He never mentioned being suspicious, or that his ashram seemed to be a fake.

The Vedic astrologer Doug Riemer from Arizona has written several articles about Sai Baba. It's on the Internet. He says that Sai is a fraud, a fake and he "communicates with ghosts" and that's how he gets his miraculous powers.

There have been some allegations of Sai Baba murdering 2 devotees, but the story gets murky at that point. Apparently, the Indian government doesn't want to prosecute or cast him in a bad light, because huge amounts of money come into Baba's organization.

I do know that he has millions of followers. I shop at a little Hindu grocery store, and they are obviously devotees of Sai Baba. They have little refrigerator magnets with his image on them, and they wear a necklace with his face on it. So he's built up a huge following.

That's about all I know. I'm the last person who would be critical of any religious figures in India. I try to be reverential to them all. That's my spiritual homeland. But that article by Riemer made me really suspicious.

5. Something else.
I am not a devotee of Sai Baba and know little about him beyond a few articles and the differences I observed when my friend got back (which don't necessarily have a damn thing to do with Baba).

However, I am bothered by the assumption you seem to be making that the sexual abuse allegations are true. President Clinton was accused of RAPE, for God's sake. Accusations are often used to tarnish someone, realizing that even years later, people will say, "There have been allegations...."

Just another thought.
