Is there a good time to quit smoking?
Astrologically speaking.

I would imagine that there are certain times when it would be most advantageous to start a healthy program. (Any advice for dates this month or next would be most appreciated!)

3. See a Dr.
I'm not trying to be a dick I just want you to avoid any shit you can. You might need medical help getting through the addiction. Good luck.

4. Astrologically speaking .....
and I personally have limited experience with this, I'm just passing along what I've learned...

Breaking bad habits is best done with the Moon waning (sometime between Full and New Moons). And it helps to start something like that in a fixed sign -- fixed fire (Leo), fixed air (Aquarius), fixed water (Scorpio), fixed earth (Taurus) for staying power. Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) are very good for starting things, not so good for continuing them and seeing them through, and Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Piseces) -- forget it. These signs are MADE for changing your mind.

I quit on the 10th of December. Didn't plan it, it just sorta happened (I posted about it in this forum). Moon was in Scorpio and I had excellent support from an herbal program from Viable Herbal Solutions -- http://www.viable-herbal.com It's been pretty miraculous for me.

5. I used the Farmers Almanac
I just quit smoking using the Farmers Almanac Astrological Timetable. It is based on the Moon's sign and shows the best days each month for certain activities. The best days for January are 4,5 and 27. I quit on the 4th after 30 years of smoking and this has been the easiest time I have ever had with it. I was told about this from a friend who owns a health food store. I had gone in there to look for any herbal or homeopathic aids for quitting and he had a copy of his Farmers Almanac and told me this is when you need to quit. He said he had quit years ago using the FA and had had no problem quitting even though he had smoked 3 packs a day. I'll keep you posted on my journey. I really wanted to quit more than anything else this year.

One week, 20 hours, 14 minutes and 34 seconds. 235 cigarettes not smoked, saving $41.18. Life saved: 19 hours, 35 minutes.

mine. There never seems to be a good time because no matter how hard you try to plan a peaceful withdrawal from the nicotine monster, life interferes and something awful happens that makes you want a cigarette or whatever your tobacco of choice is. This is the insidious part. Fate reminds you that there is no easy way. You really have to tough it out and make up your mind not to smoke no matter how badly things are crashing around you.
