I am getting a strong feeling (re: Edwards)

that it is Elizabeth's health. There's a thread by Mrs. Grumpy where several people said she went home after NH, and has been very absent lately. She was there at the speech today, but I couldn't get a good look at her.

This would also explain why he publicly used the word 'suspend', as if to reinforce a promise he has probably made to her to continue to pursue the office she believes he is destined for. Otherwise, even though I know the use of 'suspend' means he wants to continue to pay staffers, I think it would probably not have been used so prominently in his exit speech.

I don't often make public predictions/prognostications, but this seems to be the only thing that would deter him from the fight.

I am now going to concentrate on sending the family lots of healing light, and pray that she is comfortable and in a peaceful state of mind. If this is it, this is going to be a very,very trying time for that family. I do believe they have two younger children in addition to their older daughter,and of course the son they lost.

he would be able to campaign if Elizabeth took a turn for the worse before the November election. He may have looked down the road and felt he couldn't give it his all considering her prognostication for the future.

call with John and Elizabeth, and when someone asked why he dropped out now, she said it was "complicated."

I have no idea what that means, but it was interesting.

That she is being treated for Stage IV cancer. That was said on Mon. or Tues. of this week.

that the comments about Elizabeth Edwards' health status remain appropriate/respectful. We are not GD or GD: Primaries. We should remember that.

, since they announced the reoccurance. And the the Charleston paper had an article today stating she is okay. She just had a checkup and is doing fine. She did have a "cold' recently and that was why she took a few days off.Ironically, Wed was schedualed to be her first day back on the campaign trail.She looked as usual and was even chasing the kids today at the concession.I wish people would not jump to conclusions.
