Ray Merriman gave a very interesting talk about investments. The consensus among most of the speakers is that from the Saturn/Pluto conjunction until the Saturn/Pluto opposition (1982 – 2001) the Market goes up, and from the opposition to the conjunction (2001 to 2020), the market goes down. Thus we have the timeframe of the bull and bear markets. He said when Pluto is in cardinal signs (Capricorn), the Market tends down as well. Pluto in Capricorn will bring an obsession with taxes and debt. More and more countries will be obsessed with military might and want to build empires. But the US progressed retrograde Mars and progressed Pisces Sun will move the US away from militarism and there will be a growing feeling of wanting peace. The movement of the world toward militarism will peak with Uranus in Aries. He feels the major crisis of the Uranus/Pluto square will be over the use of energy and will create a paradigm shift. The best place to invest is in green companies.
Mary Barcella also gave a terrific talk on investment. She said that while Pluto is in a sign, the industries related to that sign go through an intense and often painful transformation. So Pluto in Sagittarius has brought transformation of publishing (internet), airlines, the telecoms, and the globalization of industry. Pluto in Capricorn (1/08 to 11/2024) will affect business, the government, finance, pensions, infrastructure, utilities, construction, private equity, and social security. Pluto wipes things out and then lets them get reborn. There will be new regulatory structure of financial institutions. The best time to buy in an industry is when Pluto leaves the sign and the transformation is over.
