and he knows that he is Black.
That's why they did the AD. Shame that in 2006 they can still get away with such trash.
The fact that he is not darker or the fact that he has keen features did not matter to the bigots.

I know hundreds of African Americans that look more White than Harold Ford that don't even have White grand parents or great grand parents.

My grand father looked as White as any White person I've seen.
When we walked downtown together, White people thought I was the Maid's child. He was a Butler.

there's definitely someone white in that family line. Whether it's known or admitted is another story. I have a white grandfather (maternal) and brown-skinned father (there's a white judge who's my great-great or great-grandfather on that line). I've been accused of being Mexican on occasion, but black normally. Even been accused of not being "black enough" by a drunken white freeper who wanted to be Vanilla Ice. Of course, to drunken, and not so drunken, freepers, if one isn't "really" black if one's educated and articulate, doesn't live in "the 'hood", and doesn't look/dress like the rappers on the videos.

maybe not directly but at least going back even into the slave days ?

i think Harold Ford's direct relatives such as parents are all black but were light skinned.
