Army to advance more than 5,300 senior NCOs

Cutoff scores and senior NCO sequence numbers released by the Army today authorize 5,322 advancements to the ranks of sergeant through sergeant major on Feb. 1.

Names of the promotable soldiers are expected to be released next week, following the Martin Luther King holiday on Monday.

February cutoff scores call for 3,020 promotions to sergeant, and 1,726 to staff sergeant.

The combined total of 4,746 is the largest mid-ranks promotion authorization since March 2005 when 4,900 soldiers advanced to E-5 and E-6.

Senior NCO sequence numbers authorize 10 promotions to sergeant major, 158 to master sergeant and 407 to sergeant first class.
