MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin National Guard could get some new, state-of-the-art fighter planes.

The Air Force is considering whether to place F-35 Lightning II aircraft with the 115th Fighter Wing at Truax Field in Madison. Forty other air bases have been identified as possible homes for F-35s.

The 115th currently flies 21 F-16C fighters built in the late 1980s.

uhc comment: We'll rush the $233,000,000 F-35's to ya as soon as we can get it to fly above 40,000 ft. and find an extra coupla billion to pay for them.
