A Glendale, Ariz., home builder is offering wounded warriors discounts of $30,000 to $50,000 on new homes in one of its developments.
Biltmore Homes is the first home builder to make a commitment to offer discounts and other incentives as part of the non-profit Operation Homefront’s Wounded Warrior Housing program. The organization has called on home builders and lenders to help put wounded warriors into permanent housing.
“Biltmore Homes has set a terrific standard for the housing industry that will really benefit wounded warriors and their families,” said Meredith Leyva, co-founder of Operation Homefront, in a statement announcing the discounts. “These are beautiful new homes at a steep discount in a prime location near VA facilities, great schools and a big job market. With as many as 130,000 qualified families, we think we can help sell entire cul-de-sacs rather quickly.”
The WestGlen Villas development is a gated community with a variety of amenities, including a community pool, and is minutes away from Westgate, Cardinals Stadium and Coyotes Arena.
According to the builder’s Web site, the homes range from about $210,000 up. The development offers 152 homes available in four different floor plans. One- and two-story designs range from about 1,350 square feet to over 2,300 square feet, from two to five bedrooms.
