SEATTLE — The Army Reserve says a reserve soldier from a Fort Lewis unit has died in a training exercise in Alberta.

A spokeswoman at Fort Lawton in Seattle, Pam Garrison, says the name and details of Monday’s incident will be released after the family is notified.

She says the soldier was with a Chinook helicopter unit that has been training since last month with Canadian forces.

Garrison says there are nearly 200 soldiers in the unit, Company A, 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment.
