The Virginia Beach-based Dolphin Scholarship Foundation said Friday that it is accepting applications for annual scholarships of $3,250.

The scholarships are available to children and stepchildren of current and former members of the Navy submarine force. Unmarried high school seniors and graduates and college undergraduates younger than 24 may apply.

Beginning this year, the foundation, established in 1961, intends to award 137 scholarships of $3,250 per year, meaning each recipient could receive a total of $13,000 for up to four years of undergraduate study.
