First, because I have to drive to Springfield for personal reasons, and so I would have gone anyway (not that I am happy to have to do that in a storm and rain. I want spring again).
But also because the hyper emotional climate baffles me. Somebody makes an endorsement and people get crazy. I am going to repost what I posted yesterday in Kerry2008's thread because I cannot understand why people would get so emotional about that (and I am not talking about the traditional Kerrybashers here, but the incomprehensible reactions I have seen for very good people.
And it is just fine. Nobody should expect that from you. Recommended Updated at 8:11 AM

An endorsement like that should do only one thing: get people whose commitment is weak or who are uncommitted to look again at a candidate, and make clear to all that a person supports a candidate.
So, I do not see why you should not continue to support Edwards. That would actually bother me if you did change just because Kerry said something.
So, I understand disappointment (I would have been disappointed if he endorsed somebody else). But what I cannot understand is people denying to Kerry or anybody else the right to choose his nominee and tell us. Jeez, get a grip. In a month or so, we will all be supporting the same nominee, whoever it is. Not sure that this emotional roller coaster that some people are will help them support him/her efficiently. If anything, I know for a fact that some of the 04 Kerry supporters were not efficient at all because they had swallowed all the crap that was thrown around during the 04 primaries. Remember, the ennemy is the Republicans.
