to reply to, even though it is off topic. Plus, well, she is a constituent:

Senator Kerry. But I will be getting back to it. I often image your staff saying "Oh another email from her! Doesn't she have anything else to do?" or when I have missed a few weeks "I wonder if "WXYZ" is okay, we haven't heard from her in a while."
Though it's all said to myself in a joking way - I am very glad you are my senator.
MY first husband was a disabled Nam vet. His PSTD was so bad that his violence is what lead to our divorce. One of his most vivid memories was coming back, seeking help and calling one of the veterans organizations only to be told by the vet on the other end of the phone "You pussies lost us a war! Why should we help you?"
I believe that if he had gotten the help he needed AND hadn't been shafted by the Reagan administration that cut his veterans disability from over 50% to 15% (which created it's own stress), he would have lived a much happier life. (We lived in CO at teh time and Senator Hart's office worked hard to get him classified back up to atleast 30%)
Though we divorced in the late 80's, I never stopped championing vets and have worried greatly over the plight of our returning vets, their mulitple tours, the psychological affect that would have and how that will affect those families. Our family didn't survive the effects of un and under treated PTSD - I worried that another Republican administration would give these new war vets the short end. I believed that they would . . .
And I wish they had proven me wrong.
Thank you for all the work that you do, and please keep it up! - even if I miss a week or two or three of emailing you - I'm glad and proud to say that you are my senator.
And I will be writing to you real soon
under my real name :-)
