Sen. John Kerry on President Bush's Last State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON DC – Sen. John Kerry issued the following statement after President Bush’s State of the Union speech this evening:

“Tonight President Bush reminded America of eight years of opportunities squandered, a people divided, and precisely why there is so much hunger for change in our country. For millions who have seen their wages squeezed, their health care costs soar, their homes lost, their loved ones sent to fight in an endless war, and their country’s moral authority damaged, this should have been a speech aimed at a new beginning. Instead, they will have to wait for the next President to turn the page, unite our country, stabilize our economy, and at last get serious about the business of creating good jobs, restoring America’s credibility in the world, responsibly ending the war in Iraq, and rallying America to the great challenge of global climate change. Until then, I will continue to push for change that makes America stronger at home and in the world.”

I wished I could post a picture of Kerry standing next to Milkuski. That was so hilarious, him so tall and her so small. At the beginning, they only focused on his face and I thought nobody was sitting next to him.

I caught Obama interviewed by Brian Williams after the SOTU, trying to push the conversation around Kennedy's endorsement (big deal no doubt). Good to see that Obama reminded that Kerry, Napolitano, and McCaskill endorsed him and would campaign for him. It was good to see his efforts recognized and valued.

...thank you to Senator Kerry:

"Until then, I will continue to push for change that makes America stronger at home and in the world."

4. I missed the Obama interview..does anyone have a link to a video archive?
I'll look later through MSNBC for video of this(rushing off to work now. . )but, in the meantime, if anyone already has a link to a video of that interview handy, please post it. .
very glad to see Obama giving Kerry (and Napolitano) props here. . Yesterday, the Talking Heads mentioned ONLY Kennedy and McCaskill. . it frustrated me.
Obama gets major points from me for having the grace (and good sense) to recognize (and, like you, I think, value) JK.

6. I saw Kerry at one point during the SOTU, when Bush talked about
vets and making sure they got the benefits they needed (something along those lines). I saw Kerry stand up really fast for that and clap. Yup, he'll give the president a standing ovation when it's about the vets he loves so much.
