Kerry: Tea Party A "Group Of Absolutists" Who Don't Understand What They're Doing
What I like with Kerry is that, when he wants to attack, he does.

"You know the Chinese are looking at us right now and they are just gleeful and incredulous at the way in which one of the great competitors is imploding on itself, because a group of absolutists and extremists don't understand the implication of what they are doing, and prepared to hold the entire economy hostage and it is unprecedented of anything I have seen in all of the time I have been in public life, and I think it is damaging and dangerous and reckless and irresponsible," Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) told MSNBC.

1. Fantastic.
He NAILS it, he nails THEM. With facts and with passion. And then he still manages somehow to end up on a somewhat optimistic note.
A classic. Thank you , Senator Kerry!

Thanks, Mass, for finding this and sharing it here.

2. Not as classy by far, but
I just wanted to mention that my jaw dropped when I heard Schumer last night (the late presser with Reid and Durbin) that the extremists in the House are not even able to tie their shoes! The level of overall frustration is reaching really unsual levels.

And unrelated, but I am still trying to figure out what on earth does McConnell want now/ Put Ds in general and Obama in particlar in as bad a spot as possible, I get that, but how does this really relate to not wanting to talk with Reid (which AFAIK is quite unheard of) and wanting only to negotiate with WH? The WH is going ot be blamed for this mess no matter what, he knows that. He also knows that the Rs did not get many brownie points in the process, and that the not being able/willing to compromise and be rational labels are going to stick (hopefully...). He is a slimy poisnous snake (well... turtle), but he is smart and rational (just that his goals are completely wrong, but he takes rational and unfortunatley effective steps to achieve these goals), that's why I do not understand what he is trying to achieve by this new tactic. Maybe it's just my brain getting addled for trying to follow all this too closely....
