Announcing My Candidacy for Secretary of State of Massachusetts
by john bonifaz
Thu Dec 01, 2005 at 02:23:55 PM EST
I am announcing today that I am a candidate for Secretary of State of Massachusetts in 2006, regardless of whether or not it will be an open seat.

I have reached this decision after exploring this candidacy for the past several months. During that time, I have met with people across the state who have urged that I mount this campaign and who are excited by the prospect of a Secretary of State committed to fighting for our democracy and for our right to vote.

I have also witnessed in recent weeks that the incumbent Secretary, William F. Galvin, is failing to live up to his responsibilities as the chief elections officer in the state. Here are a few key examples:

Enlightenment, anyone? I have no idea who this is....

(wasn't there some prediction that Cam Kerry was running for SoS?)

The current SecofState is Bill Galvin. He might run for Governor, but it's getting late in the game for him to jump in. I have no ideer what the hell he is doing. I do know that he was a 'possible' candidate for Mass Gov back in May when he came to the Dem Issues convention in Lowell. (He was not a good speaker. I have heard more exciting tax committee hearings.) Right now, Tom Reilly and Deval Patrick are actively trying to court voters for the Dem primary next Sept. Bill Galvin is doing a good job impersonating wallpaper, so who knows what he is doing.

Cam Kerry is probably running for SecofState but hasn't made it official. (He's raising money. Most likely it's not pay off his credit card bills.)

Bonifaz is a good guy, but he is 'one of them,' the scary liberal people from Cambridge, althought I think he actually hails from the western part of Mass, which is the mysterious part that contains Springfield and that no one knows anything about. (We should just go and erect a fence around Cambridge, I'm telling ya. The strange liberal people keep escaping along Mass Ave.)

Ahm, welcome to the race John! Have fun, try to keep your hands and feet inside the cart at all times and remember not to feed the animals. See you in Worcester in May for the nominating convention. This should be good!

2. oooh, oooh, now I recognize that name!
Wasn't he one of the speakers in one of Conyers hearings? The one held in the basement? (was that DSM or election fraud? - so hard to keep up with all the hearings needed for this misadministration...)
