This site has the audio and transcript from their first presidential debate. It's interesting to see how JFK's policies compare with Democrats today--really not that different, IMO. He also uses the phrase, "We can do better", that Dems have been using lately. He makes great use of facts and speaks with confidence--never misses a beat.
Nixon is vintage--you can hear the defensiveness and latent hostility. He reminds me very much of John O'Neill. He makes glaring debate mistakes, like repeating his opponent's accusation before declaring that it isn't true. And he says, "I think" before making a statement, weakening it.
An interesting thing to listen to on a cold and snowy Saturday (ok I should be out shopping--but will get to it later!).
