I was watching Going Upriver (watched two nights in a row so far), and heard this quote that I have never heard before - but i LOVE it! Reminds a bit of what is going on right now. I'm not sure if i have the wording exact, but it's close - i just typed it as i listened to what he said...so anyone please correct anything I have wrong.
Each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope and, crossing eachother, form a million different centers of energy and therein, those ripples form a current that can sweep down the mightiest of walls of oppression and resistance.
Kind of gives me shivers every I read it, or listen to him say it. Does this quote get used a lot? I've never heard it before!
Also, I have been trying to find the full (at least few sentences) of that part they would always show in one of the campaign commercials, with John Kerry saying something about 'a day when the sun will shine brighter, etc etc...that's all I remember off the top of my head, it was longer and very uplifting. Does anyone remember what he said on that?
