I'm watching the Senate debate the line item veto
from 1995 on C-Span 3.

Fascinating. Daschle and Dole.

Tom is talking about protecting Social Security now.

The more things change...

1. It did pass and it was in effect for two years, right?
I am in favor of this. I think it's the right thing to do.

(And the visit to the WH by Sen. Kerry generated yummy pics, btw. Just yummy.)

2. Daschle is really quite convincing.
The repub plan, apparently, was to submit the items individually to the president (Clinton), and Tom is illustrating what a cluster-blank that would be. This is absolutely stunning in it's relevance.

Next, C-Span will show Pres Clinton on the LIV. I will have to stay up for that.

Do you get C-Span 3?

3. No, jut one and two
and my son is playing a video game on the TV anyway. Sigh!

So, are you home for awhile or do you have to hit the road again soon? (And I loved seeing you in Manchester. That was great. I hope you can come up to Boston in the summer. We will be having a lot of folks checking in, off and on.)

4. Oh, I will be in Boston this summer.
I'm home until Paris (I hope).
Tucson was the last trip in March, thank God. It was fun to meet pirhana (she's really cool), and great to see you and DD again, but it's time for a rest.
Hey, how about the Paris demonstrations? Could be a wild time!

Lots of historical stuff on 3, which is good for me since I either haven't seen or don't remember a lot of it.

I'm surprised you don't get 3. Hmmm... I'd call the cable company.

:-)

He's explaining how the LIV will help balance the budget. *Sigh*. Damn, to have a Dem President. Clinton speaks in full sentences, and he just looks and sounds smart as hell. Funny, too.

He looks so young.

President Kerry should be (re)signing this bill. I can understand why he supports it.

edit
OK, I just turned on CNN and the freaking chimperor was blathering on about our addiction to oil. There goes my Kerry/Clinton high. What a buzzkill.
I really hate that lipless little bastard.

6. Apparently, so does most of America
'06 is the last election that That Friggin Idiot will be a factor. Rethugs will be wetting themselves in a mad dash to get away from him. After the elections this year, Dems have to treat him as the irrelevent lame duck he is and begin to show what a real President can do. Sigh!
