WASHINGTON -- Sen. John Kerry is fighting at least one leftover battle from his failed 2004 presidential bid.

The Massachusetts Democrat recently created a defense fund to pay his legal costs in a federal defamation lawsuit filed last fall by a Pennsylvania filmmaker, Carlton Sherwood.

4. I'm surprised this lawsuit got this far.
Then again, the RW nutjobs never ever give up a fight and persue a cause well past sanity and reason if they have to.

I hope it gets dismissed soon. It sounds baseless and stupid.

5. This has to be the definition of chutzpah
He's sueing Kerry for "descrediting" him - I guess by identifying inaccuracies in a film he made to smear Kerry during a Presidential campaign. As to silencing him - he seemed to get more press than he deserved.

I hope it gets dismissed and the judge blasts this fool and his lawyer for filing it.
