Oh shit. Andy Card for MA governor??
Edited on Wed Mar-29-06 12:45 PM by whometense
Read it and weep: http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2006/03/28/card%e2%80%99s-real-ambition/?mod=blogs

I guess this means the entire weight of the GOP machine will be bearing down on MA in the near future. On the other hand, it will be a great motivator for MA dems, and a fun showdown for JK himself.

2. Ahm, Whome, this would be a great grudge match
Remember, the taller Senator from MA has pledged to raise $1 Mil for the General Election in Mass. (Which happens after the Sept 19th primary.) Perhaps he might enjoy backing a Dem candidate who stands against someone who was Chief of Staff for the Worst President in American History. Someone who came up with the original idea that Harriet Miers should be nominated for the Supreme Court. And so forth.

This would be a gift. It would nationalize the Massachusetts Gubernatorial race. There is no possible way that Card could not run as Bush's surrogate in Massachusetts. Ahm, with all due respect, bring that one on now!

3. you're right
The last thing the RNC wants to do is nationalize these state elections. I've heard several of them lately talking about "local issues" etc. Should be interesting to watch this one.

In WI, one of the two repub primary contenders has "graciously" given up due to lack of funds, making it now a bit harder for our incumbent Dem governor. We were hoping the two GOPers would battle it out all summer and deplete both war chests. Still I'm not too worried--our gov is the incumbent and has been good for the state. We've also had some local repub corruption scandals, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of Wisconsinites.

5. It would be a total blast.
I would contribute money for that. (As much as I could.) Wow! That would be a great, great grudge match. (OMG, it would be an incredible release of negative energy as well. All those '04 people with a real and attainable target to aim at. How totally sweet!)
