For once though, I would like to see all these people scrutinize Bush's records as closely as they have Kerry's. For that matter why don't they double check on McCain's too. Repubs get s pass, but Dem's get challenged.

In the Brinkley book, pages 152 -153, Peck is one of the very few people who Brinkiey quoted as NOT likeing Kerry.

"As one of his fitness reports point out, Peck had a "machine gun mentality" completely at odds with Kerry's more reflective ways. Peck's own men on the PCF-57 - a crew that Kerry would soon inherit - all knew that their skipper was too quick to anger. And the one guy who got Peck's ire up the quickest was John Kerry, whom he found standoffish and condescending. "I didn't like anything about him," Peck Proclaimed. "Nothing." For his part, Kerry liked Peck, and decades later recalled none of this supposed animousity between them."

To put Peck's comment on standoffish and condescending, here's Peck's comments on page 152 on his own men:

" I told them to get the hell out of my room. I was their boss. I didn't fraternize with these guys, memorizing their mother's birthdays abd crap like that." (Gee, who likely did "crap" like that?)

The other discrepancy is that Peck was seriously injured on January 29 (page 261). So, he was not there in the February or March time frame when Kerry was.
