The first time a snarky guy from Boston was on and I didn't hear the whole thing, but I do remember being surprised that Imus was standing up for JK .... but I was pretty groggy ... did this really happen? I also remember them talking about "lie and die" and saying they hoped every politician doesn't turn into Jesse Jackson.
The next time I woke up, George Allen was criticizing the Kerry (Feingold) Amendment (I don't remember Feingold's name being mentioned once) and Imus said something along the lines of "I don't really remember his reason for the deadline because I was looking out the window and thinking about my kids" -- he was just trying to get George Allen to justify the reasoning for a deadline, which of course he wouldn't.
So then Imus - "Oh wait, I remember his reason, because it made sense to me at the time" And he basically argued JK's point for him. He said (paraphrased) "Isn't the point that Iraqis have to begin taking responsibility for their country ... it's like telling a kid they have to get a job and move out .... if you don't give them a date they'll still be living at home at 38".
