"Extreme Processing" Challenge SUBMISSION thread...

Before posting your photograph, be sure to read the "rules" as modified for this event:

BASIC CHALLENGE RULES:

You may enter as many images as you want, with one exception -- that, once you submit an image, you wait until at least three other people have submitted an entry of their own before submitting again. (This "spacing between entries" rule may be modified by the hosts of this contest during the submission period, depending on how many entries we are receiving.) Unlike the monthly contests, the hosts are allowed to submit images in this challenge as well.

For this challenge, and this challenge alone, each submission shall consist of two images --
a) the modified photo, which is limited to 640 (not the usual 800) pixels in the longest dimension, and
b) a half-size version (i.e., if the main submission is 640x480, the second image shall be 320x240) of the original image, prior to modification, so that voters can see what manipulation was performed.

Please try to keep your modified photo under 200K in file size, with the unmodified half-size version correspondingly smaller. If you need help posting a photograph, or with image sizing, just ask.

Please be sure to include a "Title" for your entry in the Subject line of your post.

The submission thread is for photo entries only, no comments. There will be separate thread just for comments.

CONTEST LICENSE:

An entrant to this challenge, by submitting a photograph, is giving permission for that photograph to be copied to Demopedia and/or to a linked Gallery that will display the photographs entered for this contest for the purpose of publicizing future contests/challenges and/or commemorating current and past contests/challenges. The entrant retains all other rights to the photograph being submitted. Neither Demopedia and/or a linked Gallery may use any photograph submitted for any purpose other than to display the photograph being submitted by the entrant, and neither gains any real or implied ownership rights to the photograph.

An entrant can disclaim this Contest License and retain all rights to the photograph. Have to find the pre process version, which is RAW and reprocess jpg.

You'll need that pre-processed version, plus a title, before we get enough entries to trigger the cut-off.

This is fairly pre-processed, with some stuff done automagickally by PSE3 to the original.

Houston, we have a problem.

Even though I issued a cut-off at 28 entries, people have kept submitting photos. Since I don't have the authority to lock this thread on my own, I couldn't stop these additional photos from being entered.

So (big gulp), I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and have a larger field and four preliminary-round polls for this challenge.

With four polls, we'll be taking the top two finishers in each poll, plus the two closest overall runners-up, to include in the final round.

What this means is that, since we're currently at 34 entries, I will accept up to an additional SIX ENTRIES. Anything submitted after that will be disqualified, whether I can lock the thread or not.

Also, I'll be ending the submission period tomorrow night, even if we have less than forty entries on hand.

(I don't know how I get myself into these things...)

Still wanted to participate. You don't have to put it in the contest. No big deal. I'll catch the next one.
