An old tintype

I found this in an old book I bought at a yard sale a few years back- I have absolutely no idea who the subjects are. The original tintype is corroding badly on the back side, and the picture is turning dark.

I scanned it into Photoshop then grayscaled it, and lightened and sharpened it. I then added the sepia coloring back in and did some minor touchup work, filling in a few dust spots and softening the crease that runs top to bottom, right through the middle.

2. There's about a forty year window

The tintype first appeared about 1856 and was used until the technology was replaced- it faded away by about 1900. The peak usage was from 1861-1870.
