1. NIce. One comment...
it would be a lot more powerful if you could scootch to the right a bit and make the background cleaner... assuming the grass extends that way.

Did you use a flash?

3. No, I didn't use a flash
and the background is not very "clean" I think because of the aperture setting, but I could be wrong. Thanks for the advice.

2. My $.02 worth of advice
Don't look down at your subject, try resting your camera on the side of the fountain. Get nice a low, it'll make for much more dramatic shots.

4. You're right.
I was in a hurry though. I think I will go back and try what you suggest.

5. Two "fun with water" in motion tricks:
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 12:23 AM by chknltl
If you can control your shutter speed: A slow speed of 30 seconds or greater will make that fountain spray something which looks like angel-hair. You will need to support your camera, (tripod), and you may need to do this close to dusk or later so that you have low light to work with.
Once you have mastered the technique try it on other forms of moving water, waterfalls are always fun.

Another nice trick is to re-shoot that same scene at night or in twilight with a flash. Try to have the flash aimed just slightly higher so you do not get a hot spot on the water between yourself and the water spray. With any luck you will get a spray of frozen glistening droplets.
