Theme for the April Contest -- "Making Connections"
Gentlemen (and Ladies), start your cameras! (Or should that be reserved for the May contest?)

The submission thread will be opened on or about 4/15.

1. Excellent
I think I know what this theme means. If I can't figure it out I'll just rent some puppies and a baby and snap that.

2. Both
Rent 'em both and make the snap a clear emotional connection between the baby and the puppy.

3. I'm not sure about the title for the contest.

"Juxtaposition" is one thing, imo, but "Making Connections" could be interpreted a number of ways. For instance, would you accept a photo of someone on the phone? Or a closeup of a high-speed internet cable plugged into a computer? Both fit the criteria of "making connections," but neither is a juxtaposition. What say you, ykciN?

4. Good question
"Making Connections" in my mind is having two or more similar or dissimilar subjects in the photo that "connect" in the total presentation.

6. I'm so happy I can hardly contain my glee
:D

Unlike Strength I've decided that I'll just go with something that I perceive to be a representation of the theme. It'll probably be another ass kickin' vote magnet :eyes: like The Talking Wall but I'll see what I can come up with. :P

7. I think I have something
Had an idea and took the camera out today. While trying for angles and composition that worked, the sun came out from behind a cloud. Made a couple quick snaps in another direction, then returned to my original concept. Once home and on the computer, those couple quick snaps actually conveyed the idea I had in mind better than than the angles I worked at. So unless something else catches my eye, one of those will be entered. Whether anyone else sees what I see is another story.

8. Do the pictures for the contests
have to be 'new' pictures or, if you have one that you feel embodies the theme but is several years old, is it ok to enter it?

9. I guess so.
I can't see what the difference would be between last week and a few years back. Though I've only been dropping by here recently. Perhaps one of the veterans could chime in.

10. I don't think they have to be "new" unless the host demands it.
I personally don't have time right now to go out and hunt up a brand-new shot, so I'm going to use one I took earlier in the winter. I think especially with a "concept" contest like this one, we should be allowed to dig back into our stash of photos for something that fits...

But RegnaDKciN obviously has the final say.
