1. These are good...
I'm kind of partial to 2 and 4, I think. What's the story behind #2? Who is that guy?

4. His name is Sandy.
One of my photo projects this summer is a compilation of murals in the St Paul/Minneapolis area.
There are many murals in the Twin Cities, some quite beautiful, most very creative.
The painting in the background of #2 is a one I find a little frightening (blue eyed jesus selling a used car :scared:).

It is on the side of a Christian Mission and Shelter in Minneapolis.
The evening I went to photograph this particular painting, Sandy was standing on the corner panhandling.
He was interested in what I was doing, and asked me to take his picture.
I noticed he looks a little like the guy in the big painting.

Its a terrible photograph, and I would like a do over.
I drive by that spot often, but I haven't seen him again.

5. Thanks for the back story.
That photo intrigued me, even if you do think it's "terrible." I don't.

On Edit: Its not really "terrible", but it could be better.
It IS evocative.

The more I learn about this photography stuff, the more pictures I discard.
I'm becoming my harshest critic. Oh well.

I wasn't really paying attention when Sandy asked me to take his picture.
I took it, more to show him his picture on the back of the camera, than with the awareness that this could be a "good" picture.
His coloring and features DID resemble the Big Guy in the painting, and I didn't realize the potential until after I got home and screened my shots.
Sometimes, I am much too involved trying to control "the picture I think I want" to notice the GREAT pictures that are gifts from the Universe.

I would like to have him remove his hat, and then move closer toward the camera, and shoot from the ground so that he would appear closer in size with relation to "Blue Eyed jesus". Softer light would help too.

Thanks for the kind words.
I value your opinion.
:hi:
