1. What a great web site
I followed through a few links and found this one, which is one of the coolest waterfall shots I've ever seen:

3. If you are who I think you are..............
I really hope you hang awhile or at least stop by every so often. Searching... answered my own question. Yes, you are.

Have one question. Looks like you are doing some HDR stuff. Would love to know which "darkroom" technique you use.

Thanks for posting these.. and like I said.. hope you hang awhile. We're a lot more "fun" than the other internets :eyes: places... not as cold and technical.

Quite beautiful. Amazing photographs.

4. Well, actually I may not be,
Edited on Sat Dec-09-06 02:30 PM by mcg
I'm not even a photographer, although photography is something
I've considered taking up as a hobby. I don't even know what HDR means.
I found out about this web site from an email a friend sent me, I just
had to post about it. I'm not a photographer, but I can recognize
good photos, and these are great. I've done some art (mainly drawing)
as a hobby and know something about composition.

If I do take up photography I would experiment with setting up
unusual still lifes using colored lights, glass, ice, etc., and
play around with the additive nature of light.

I'll post about some other interesting web sites.

5. Bummer... I thought we had a famous landscape pro
.. comin' round these parts. Well, my invite still stands regardless. I like doin' still life myself. Experimenting and stuff.

Thanks for the link.

7. Number 11 looks remarkably like Valdez Glacier
Number 11

My shot of Valdez Glacier

Not exactly, but pretty close. I could work on amping up my color though. :)

8. Nice shot, let's see it with amped up color!
It's got good composition, keeps the eye busy.

9. I'll have to get back to you on this
because I've been at my computer working all day and I'm sure my husband misses me (unless he's fallen asleep on the couch). Maybe tomorrow evening after I finish this rush job I can get back to the photo. I was always kind of dissatisfied with the color in this shot, and #11 inspires me. I really am curious if that photo came from the same location as mine. There are so many similarities, maybe just shot from a slightly different angle.

Hey, when I called it the "Great Northwest Calendar Cliché" in that thread, I wasn't kidding!

15. Those remind me of this rather iconic shot of Mt. McKinley

Variations of this shot are everywhere. I was so excited to get a clear day so I could have my own. :)
