Oh, okay, theme suggestions for January thread
I was thinking something along the line of Time or Time Passing being that it's the new year.

Post your suggestions and we'll do a poll. I do know how to do that.

11. Anything but cats.
No cats what so ever. If any shot is posted with a cat in it, that shot is immediately disqualified. I have nothing personal against cats mind you, but it seems that some DUers just can't help but voting for cats, and it just skews the whole contest towards the cat photos.

12. Cats don't always
win unless they are wrapped in a great photo. Now birds do win in August for some dumb reason so birds should never be allowed in August.

15. Chill, it was a JOKE. We have threads for CATS, off contest.
And hopefully sometime soon, we'll have blind polls so no one can see the results of the voting until the end of the contest.

Maybe we should do a special contest sometime that is just cats.

Movement
Portentous/Omninus

14. Just to clarify on that 'movement', I didn't mean
an action shot per se, I was leaning more towards a shot of something in motion. That could be a fish swimming, for instance, or a tree obviously swinging in the breeze.

Just have everyone enter a photo. Any photo.

Or, you could just close your eyes..... reach in the hat ... and pull one out. These are a few unused themes suggested over the last year. I left out the "seasonal" suggestions and I probably missed a few others. Point is... there are a ton of suggestions to draw from.

29. Ice, fog, rain, melting runoff, snow, or your breath visible
on a chilly morning. It could also be a sundog, a ring around the moon. Winter water takes many forms, not just a stream flowing through a snowy field.

Shots that include several clear shapes, such as circle, rectangle, square/diamond, triangle, and there should be at least three of the definitive shape or shapes

... in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday on the 15th.

They could be shots of dreams or dreamers. :shrug: Oh, well.
