3. No, it's where the acorn woodpeckers hole up
And now you know why they are called acorn woodpeckers.

8. I call acorn woodpeckers the kamakazi woodpeckers
They are the ones that either sit in the middle of the road and get smashed or swoop in front of your car and get smashed.

Short story: I was driving home one afternoon when one of the kamakazis dove in front of my car. I looked in my rear view mirror as I continued on. I saw one small feather fluttering to the roadway. I thought, oh great I have shmooshed woodpecker all over the front of my car. I got home, parked and walked to the front of my car. Yep, the woodpecker was there, but very much alive and hanging on for dear life. I pried him loose and sent him on his way.

10. You certainly have a great
picture here. The shadows on the siding IMHO, highlight the woodpecker's industrious work. Accolades aside, where ever did you find such a fantastic building!

11. This is an old fishing shack
on the way to one of my clients. The lakes are now part of the water company that supplies the water for most of the area so no one has access to the lakes to fish any more. I've driven past this building for years and always loved the color. It's another case of being there at the right time with the right equipment.

13. Thanks
My goal is to actually catch the critters stuffing the holes. The shack may turn to dust before I catch the right moment.
