Kyoto, Tokyo, and Nara Signs

I just had my pocket camera when I went to these beautiful places in the last week. This was my first visit to Japan, and one of the things that surprised me was the prevalence of English in signs. Here is a "sign" tour of the places, some in Japanese, some in English and some in both. I find a little something of interest in all of them, and hope you enjoy them.

I really loved the garden shot--I wonder what kind of trees those are? the second Tokyo market shot is just perfectly balanced and frames! And who can resist Hello Kitty chocolate-dipped bananas? :rofl: Love that shot!

There's a company that makes those peace poles. We have a peace pole like this at my college, the "Peace on Earth" written in eight languages, though I'm not sure Chinese is one of them. Cool to see them in another country.

On my way out. Will be back to look some more. :D

And I think I need a pair of those slippers.

Sigh, I miss Japan. It's surprising how easy it is to get around there without speaking the language. Such a beautiful country too.
