want to see my tent?
Edited on Thu May-07-09 11:55 PM by ElsewheresDaughter
I set it up every spring and take it down again every fall.. It is so nice to sleep down by the creek, falling a sleep listening to the the night critters, the hoots and trickling of the water.

we have to play rock, scissor, paper with the kids to see who gets to use it each night....I need to improve my skills :D
this is as rough as I get now a days.... it's not to hard on these old bones. nice eh?

yes that is an electric blanket and carpeting on the floor...it gets cold in these mountains at night even during the dog days.

2. TV?
Looks like all you're missing is a TV (or maybe a stereo system). But, as mentioned previously, that setup is brilliant!

3. I did not know if I wanted to see your tent, but I sure am glad I got to!!!
This is simply wonderful. The way you are showing it in the progression of photos makes me feel totally "at home" and I get it why it is a treat to sleep there.
Simply fabulous.

4. This is a regular "guest house"!
Why was I thinking it would be a sleeping bag on the ground?

I'm sure the real sounds are a lot more soothing than a sound machine.

5. What kind of tent is that?
It's pretty huge.

6. Politically speaking...
...that's what I call a "big tent!" ;-) Where did you get it? And I assume, since I don't see a solar battery array or windmill nearby, that you're running a power cord from the house?

Now, all you need to do is get a DSL line out there, so you can access DU from the riverbank...

8. What a brilliant idea!
I could see myself sleeping there every night. How peaceful. Just cozy up with a good book while listening to all the natural sounds.

9. I see you're "roughing it" by omitting a seat ...
... on the night-soil bucket.

(I'd have a portable commode. I'm spoiled.)

10. Looks like my dream bedroom!
I'm very envious you get to spend your summer evenings in full bed comfort, creekside. It's very ambitious of you to carry down and set up an entire bed frame and mattress in the tent, but the rewards must be soooooo worth it!

11. Looks cozy, BUT...
I watch too much CrimeTV about serial killers to relax in the woods. It's ruined for me. Unless you could secure the tent with a deadbolt?

12. That looks extremely comfortable
I'd gladly go camping more often if I could trade my foamy for a set-up like that.
