Not sure which of these are the best, so I'll post a few.

Downtown Toronto from the eastern end of the harbor. With gulls.

2. I wasn't carrying it. It certainly would have frozen them a little
but then some of the Hitchcockian suspense might have been lost. What I really was missing here was Tippi Hedren trying to feign the emotion of terror, which was an absurdly entertaining thing to watch.

6. Thanks!!
Birds gotta move, don't they?

I love the one with the skyline.

Would a flash have reached that far? Really?

Most of mine are blurry not because the birds are moving but because the boat is moving (or I am moving, LOL).

11. The speedlite would have reached the birds, or most of them.
I just didn't have the foresight to have it with me. Of course, I could have flipped up the onboard flash, but that too would have required reasoning apparently beyond my capacities. Maybe next time.

7. Cool pictures!
I especially like the second one. The bird "formation" is somewhat similar to and gives a bit of emphasis to the cloud pattern.

12. Thank you.
I wish I could say I did that on purpose, but the birds get the credit, slippery buggers.

8. I like the blurry birds
And I like the second one best. I think it's that bird in the center that makes it for me.

9. Cool
I like the dramatic sky and bird formations in the second and third shots best. My favourite silhouette is in the last one. I love the wing feather details. It looks like some ominous portent of doom (ok that's not a good thing but I like the symbolism).

14. It does have a sort of menacing quality, doesn't it?
I was taking these with the thought of entering them into a city-run photo contest, but this one might not capture the civic image they're hoping for.

17. No coincidence that all the expats I know are leftists.
We all came here seeking the workers' paradise.

Added bonus, fireworks on Monday to celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday. Weird but true.

It's going to be cold, but as long as it doesn't rain, I intend to be there.
