1. Thanks, I love these...
...history...er...lessons.

Jesus had every right to protest Cesar. He was a vile pagan, slept with all sorts of temple prostitues...

Cesar Romero? Sorry, couldn't resist. Actually, just like $hrub, Caesar Augustus was a big promoter of "family values"--at least in public. He had his old friend Ovid exiled for writing "The Art of Love," which was predictably a huge hit among younger Romans.

Reading between the lines, I'm also pretty sure many of the Old Testament heroes like King Solomon also slept with temple prostitutes.
And temple prostitutes were often available in both sexes, according to my (admittedly scanty) knowledge of the subject.

3. Yeah. I don't think I can win on this one. At least though, this person is
trying to be nice. Most fundies would be foaming at the mouth. This one is trying the iron fist in velvet glove appraoch.

5. If I remember correctly
King Solomon had many wives. :eyes: Yet he's the wisest of them all since he got his wisdom from God.

2. The idiot misses his own point:
Jesus did NOT protest Caesar. He had a different mission, which was not to redefine the political world - at least, not in the conventional sense.

Good luck, GPV. You've got an interesting person there.

6. Exactly
Jesus never tried to change his government. Remember people tried to find a way to get him into court so they can kill him and he always was supportive of the government. What he tried to change was people's hearts and souls and how corrupt the religious leaders of his time were (sounds familiar eh?). So many on the "religious right" forget that. Someone who has a close mind and heart to God isn't going to follow God's laws.
