One fitness goal achieved
I can fit in my old trousers again (size 34's). I was dreading having to buy new trousers, next size up, with a drawer with usable trousers. How?

-Beer, junk snacks removed from easy reach.
-Workout every day, doubles on 1-2 days, rest/light workout 1 day.
-Drink lots of water (but you all knew that)
-Added fruit smoothies /w your favorite protein powder (I prefer Spiruteen's Vanilla Spice flavor :9) and whey protein shakes. I take the whey protein shakes (whey protein in soy milk) before workouts. I use frozen fruit for the smoothies 'cause it keeps, fresh lasts only a few days in the 'fridge. I'm not normally a fruit fan. :P
-Small lunches. I go to the Chinese fast food at work, load up, take that home, and split it into 3 lunches. Add extra rice, pack into the containers and they sit in the 'fridge ready to go. With small lunches, breakfast and small dinners are needed.
-Do my own cooking. I know my way around a kitchen and spice rack. Also, the huge portions served at restaurants are way too much. If you do eat out, take some home with you.

Hope this helps. :hi:

2. A bit of advice
lose the milk prior to workout. The whey protien shake is okay but the soy is slow digesting, you don't want that digesting while you're working out. Maybe replace those calories with a bowl of oatmeal, the non-sugar kind about an hour before working out to give you plenty of energy. And watch out for what kind of chinese food you eat.

Good advice about taking home your huge portions of restaurant food.

3. Clarification
I drink the whey protein shake roughly an hour ahead of time.

You're right about the Chinese food. One should avoid the dishes that are swimming in oily sauce. I get the veggie option with a spoon of chicken. :9

4. Sounds pretty good, keep us posted on your progress
Some chinese food is great for you, but some are VERY calorie dense. It sure does taste good though.

5. Trying rice milk
with the whey protein for the pre-workout drink. I got the big rice milk 'cause it was on sale. :D I'll let you all know how it goes.

6. Eating breakfast early
I have breakfast, usually ready or mostly ready the night before, very early during the week. Usually at or before 7am.
