I was at the opening of a glass show at one of our local galleries Friday night and told the owner about you. They have glass, jewelry, etc., but also have some paintings. Kevorkian had his paintings there at one time.

Anyway, I told her she could look you up on the Internets. It's Ariana Gallery in Royal Oak (yes, the same as my daughter's name).

I am on the verge of picking up a gallery in California. Then I start my search in earnest for regional markets. I'm also looking in Marfa, Texas, that's supposed to be great.

I'll drop it off at Ariana Gallery. I have no idea whether Ann went online to see your work. She's great and is a good Dem. The gallery is named after her daughter who died as a child. She would have been just about my daughter's age. She had cancer in her eye and lost the eye. Sounds like she was a very brave little girl.

Actually, they may be more what you're looking for because I think they handle more paintings. Ariana Gallery is more glass, ceramics, jewelry, etc., with just a smattering of paintings. The glass is fantastic. I don't know the owners at the others, but I'd be happy to drop off marketing packets if you have them.

I have a question maybe some of you can help me with. I ordered a new pair of glasses today at For Eyes and they cost me $264.00. Is that normal price for a pair of no line bi-focals?

I just ordered a pair of glasses that retailed for around $400... but with the local insurance program, I got them for about $300. So, yeah - you did pretty good.

And I'm borderline bifocals - probably next year. x(

I was sort of shocked at the price but this is the first time for me for bifocals. I just hope I don't have trouble getting used to them. My sister thinks I will, she wanted me to get the lined bifocals.

You may have some trouble for the first few days, which is rather common.

Took me about 3 days to get completely used to them; same with MrSG.

My advice: be very careful on stairs. :hi:

I think you adapt pretty easy when you really want to see what you're reading. But damn - it's getting harder every day!

Since the SO gets them. He also tried the lined ones first and had a very hard time getting used to them. He says the unlined ones are better and were easier to get used to plus there is more midrange for seeing things like speedometers. (He drives a truck and needs that midrange.)

Been wacked out with a cold too much to even feel up to getting online much, for quite some time. But never fear, I've been keeping up with KO regardless. I believe I am recovering by the Miracle of the KOOS. Stroke it gently and believe, and thou shalt be healed (the KOOS, I mean--get your mind out of the gutter, Rev).

Let me tell you that after only a few days I am Jeremiah Wright'ed out. If the media don't stop beating what now HAS to be a dead horse, let the death of a good man's campaign be on THEM, not him. Mabus, I also read "Great American Hypocrites" and thought it did a great job of showing how John Edwards was essentially marginalized right out of having any chance in the primaries because the media had succeeded, through constant obsession with and focus on his hair and his haircuts and his supposed concern with them, in making him sound like a looks-obsessive fruitcake. It was unfair then, and it will be unfair now if, after such a strong repudiation of what was obvious grandstanding on the part of Rev. Wright, they continue to hang him as an albatross around Obama's neck. I mean, jeez Louise, who amongst us has not befriended and even at times become really close to a person with a lot of good qualities who still had some beliefs/behaviors we did not like or agree with one bit? Does this evidence poor judgment on our parts, or is it more of a measure of our ability to find and like and appreciate the good in people while letting the bad or less desirable take a backseat? MUST every relationship be one in which we have perfect agreement and harmony with a person, or we throw 'em out the window? How many of us can say we have no friend who has at least one belief that curdles our stomach? Hell, I have a friend who likes BUSH! (or at least did once).

Wright went overboard with the National Press Club. It's apparent he's gotten a taste of the spotlight and found it really delicious, and thus rather than trying to remove himself from it for the sake of the candidacy of a man he PRESUMABLY would like to see President, he has put himself first. Not Obama, not God (whom you would think would be a minister's #1 consideration), HIMSELF. I think he saw opportunity for himself to become a national figure, a celebrity, and he could not let the opportunity pass. And he didn't care if he took a good man down with him. Well, the good man has decided, he's not going to go if he can help it.

I just hope it works, because if it doesn't insanity may be well around the corner for me. I don't tolerate media fools gladly; that's why I watch Keith!
