1. Well, ladies, what did you think?
I was particularly amused when Mr. Lamb asked him why not look for a girlfriend on the internet.:rofl::rofl:

2. That was too funny
Keith looked slightly embarrassed, but I thought he was so adorable with his response.

3. Funny... it looks like I just met my next victim... I mean GF on the
"internets." :)

She's completely won me over; it's not even fair. Women... you all completely own me... Curses!!!!!

Keith has to be a workaholic. I've been curious how a guy like that could stay single for so long. He just has workaholic written all over him.

5. I thought it was interesting
that the show they used for clips was the one from the Friday we were in NYC. :)

19. That cracked me up!
As soon as I realized it, I said, "Oh, now I can see some of the parts of the show I missed on may way to the hotel from the airport!" He must have been watching out for me.

10. Brian Lamb checked out our little group ...
during his research, eh? What did you think when KO said he'd like to be married?

20. I loved it -- I thought it was a great interview.
I learned a lot that I didn't know before -- I never heard the details about his subway accident. It was nice to see parts of the show I missed on my way to the hotel on Feb. 17.

Nice to know that Rick Kaplan actually does support what KO does -- even though he's on his way out. It will be interesting to see if KO renews his contract when it's up next year or goes off to do something else.

21. it would be interesting to see what he'd ask for if he renews
Edited on Mon Mar-13-06 01:08 PM by gkhouston
I think he enjoys Countdown and would like to stay. Don't know whether MSNBC wants to keep him. His show runs counter to the political slant of most of their programming (not so much that he slants left and they slant right, but that he slants truth and they slant right which isn't being very truthful at this point in time). OTOH, he is pulling in some respectable ratings.

I think CBS would do well to scoop him up, but they may want some brain candy. If they're seriously courting Couric, that's the only explanation I can think of -- light, goes down easy, empty calories. I prefer something a little meatier, myself. (:spank:, Rev!) I don't think re-upping his contract with MSNBC would fail because of money, or at least not because of his personal salary. Yeah, I could see KO asking for more $$, but he doesn't seem to have the big head, so I wouldn't expect him to want an astronomical salary increase. OTOH, he might want them to spend more money for the show, not for his personal salary, but to hire more staff (so he has fewer days where he's writing more than 50% of the show), and that might be a sticking point with the bean-counters. I wonder how far in advance of the end of this contract we'll know what's going to happen.

4. he was great, that was a nice interview
I liked how he elaborated on his eye injury. Many years ago when KO was still on Sportscenter I heard that story about how he never drives. I knew it was an injury, and eventually a few months ago, I read the subway thing, but it was nice to hear the whole story.

I found it interesting how he talked about his overall career, the interactions at ESPN, MSNBC, Fox and then back at MSNBC again. Of course, it's good fun when he makes fun of Falafel Bill. :) Like shooting fish in a barrel. I was cracking up at his story how he and O'Reilly were at the same event and just stared daggers at each other, lol.

Also, much props for the use of the word: "Deviltry."

6. That was a great interview
I've been a fan of KO's since his days on Sports Center. After watching this, it just confirms why I've always liked him. He is extremely smart and entertaining.

8. it's nice to see him when he's being a little more serious
because then you can fully understand what an intelligent and articulate guy he is. It's easy to think of him as a funny guy and so on, but to truly appreciate what a great broadcaster and journalist he is, it helps to see him in another light.

17. not just his overall career, but the cable vs. network stuff was good, too
Wow, you mean there's somebody out there who isn't simply reading the pages put in front of him? Who actually gives some thought, from time to time, about what is and isn't working on news programs in general and his in particular? And CBS is sniffing around Katie Couric because....?

9. Indeed!
What a delight. That one will go in the archives!

(I guess no one else picked up on the part I overheard. When Keith was asked if he wanted to try the Internet and laughed, and just under his breath I could hear him mutter, "not into pink fuzzy handcuffs...")
