97. Yeah, I just over-posted too much in a short timeframe
I thought maybe all the posts I was doing about voting for Nancy in all of the state forums was verboten, but it wasn't. I was just doing them too quickly and it triggered an automatic suspension of my privileges. Earl fixed me up right quick!

Of course, check out that thread in the Iowa forum. I could easily have gotten into it with someone, but I tried to be civil in my answer. Some people are just so infantile and spiteful.

30. I think he's never looked better, and not just because he's been away.
:hi: all. Here late, forced to work late. Glad I set a tape.

Looks like he's not going to address anything. Which can only mean one thing: every word Lloyd Grove and Jossip published is true and he's embarrassed as all hell about it--but as far as he's concerned, he apologized, and it got little to no publicity anyway, so he's not even going to address it and tell way more people than already know. As far as he's concerned, it's over.

Unless he says something, that's the impression I'm left with.

Anyone else?

I still think he looks wonderful tonight. I love the new glasses and I love it when he does his own hair and the MSNBC gals don't get to hit him with the orange Pan-cake. One of the advantages of 30 Rock.

117. it could just as easily mean
that he doesn't want to give oxygen to what is essentially a non-story. Sure, we're talking about it, but it's not exactly consuming national headlines. If he blogs about it or talks about it, it will get true national attention, and not in a gossip column. So I think his not mentioning it doesn't give us any information one way or the other as to whether the story had any basis in fact.

Liked the tie and shirt but not with that suit. :puke:

But boy, am I relieved that it doesn't look as if we are getting any celeb babies tonight. Maybe we won't--or will get only dribs and drabs.

57. Only in the best way possible. I got to stay home and watch KO
tonight. If it weren't for the threat of flooding, I'd be driving my kid to see a teenager kind of band at a local club. I was so tired and missed Keith so much, I was glad for the excuse to stay home. My neighborhood streets flood a little, but my home is safe.

Thanks for asking - Houston covers a wide area. I'm on pretty high ground.

He's got naturally curly hair and he used to wear it very short to keep it under control. I think I like it better a bit "fluffier."

61. Has he said anything yet? I've got mixed feelings...
My heart's not in this tonight.

I saw my boss (who's fighting cancer) at Mass yesterday. He looked great, and sounded fantastic.

Today, we got a call from his wife. He started getting sick last night, and passed out on his way to work this morning. He's home resting, but we don't know yet how this will impact in the long run.

I guess this is to be expected; we were told that it's the second chemo round that puts you on your butt. Still, he was doing SO great...I guess we got our hopes up.

It puts all of KO's brouhaha in perspective, that's for sure... :(

65. How can people still not believe there is global warming?
Even if they don't know about the 900+ peer-reviewed papers and articles on the subject, how can they NOT think that cars and factories and tons of people aren't polluting and causing global warming.

Seems to me that it's just common sense.

95. Clark, remember the first rule about common sense:
Edited on Mon Jun-19-06 08:08 PM by BerryBush
"It's not really all that common."

edited to add: I've said it before and I'll say it again: Most Americans would rather die than admit that their car driving has any sort of negative impact on the planet. Ask the average heterosexual person if he'd rather be gay or give up his car, and chances are he'd say gay.

I'm serious.

I still don't believe Al will run for president.

I think he's over politics - and who can blame him.

Now... that said... I've been wrong before (take my first husband, for example, even though I got a wondermous child out of that union) and I could be.

I'd be thrilled with a Clark, Gore and/or Feingold run.

85. LOL -- Sad as it may be, Clark, I think you're right
I won't hit you over the head, as I'm slowly, sadly coming to the same conclusion. I hope he changes his mind, but if not, maybe he would accept Secretary of the Interior or head of the EPA. He wants to be somewhere he can make a difference and in one of those positions under a Democratic president, he could. I'm in the same camp as you, pretty much. Any combination of Gore, Clark, Feingold. Maybe Kerry, but I'd have to know he could win again this time.

I hope we're all wrong, but time will tell.

If Al thinks he can do more good as a private citizen working to address global warming, then that's what he'll do. Tonight he clearly said if we don't start doing something rapidly, in ten years none of the politics will matter anyway.

115. I second the emotions of the floaties.
Even just seeing the little facial expressions he makes...damn, it feels so good to have him back. And doesn't he sound wonderful speaking Italian? :loveya:

Obviously, there is a reason he hasn't said anything...and one reason must be that he feels no need to apologize to his audience, which tells us something about the level of support he's been getting. I had thought "How can he not address it?," but if it's not really that big a deal to anyone but people who hated him anyway...then, well, why? Who in his faithful fan viewership did he really hurt?

As for the Olbermannwatch crap, no need to comment on that. Their credibility is zero. Although I did get some laughs out of their failed attempt to paint KO as the Martha Stewart of baseball cards. I guess they had to try springing this because that plan didn't work too well. (Warning to KO: they will only escalate their strategies now. Do not, I repeat, do NOT answer any fan mail from 14-year-old girls...especially 14-year-old-girls who send pictures.)

And Jossip? Maybe he decided their slams were beneath commenting upon. He didn't want to go all Nixon and Checkers, and they're not exactly the National Enquirer, so...

The question is, if a man makes an unwise decision and apologizes for it in an empty forest, does the fact that he even did it make a sound?

"Na na na na na na na na, JETCAR!" This is what we live for. That and the crack about Cheney.

Welcome back, KO.

112. Oh my gosh--I just rewound my tape to listen to the beginning and
heard him make that crack to Milbank:

"If you sign with MSNBC, whatever you say doesn't make any difference anyway"!

THAT WAS IT! THAT REALLY WAS IT!

That was the sum and substance of KO's comments on the whole incident...that was all he planned to say and all he was going to say.

And if you want any more subtle commentary, look at the choice of the story about the school bus camera and the kid who got taunted by the bullies so much that he finally punched one...and then they proceeded to bloody his nose.

In that scenario, it's the bullies who are getting punished...yeah.

"If you sign with MSNBC, whatever you say doesn't make any difference anyway."

There's probably a lot of meaning in that.
